Rivers State, Gov. Wike said the president candidate Atiku Abubakar made provocative comments when he was announcing his running mate Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa . Gov. Wike, who said since he lost out in the presidential primary, had been quiet, faulted the television interview granted by PDP Presidential Aspirant Atiku Abubakar on the crisis rocking the party. Gov. Wike said that shortly when he arrived from Spain yesterday 29th July 2022, Gov. said he decided to stay quiet because of the love he has for the party
The Rivers governor said, Atiku comment on the arise tv were false despite the former vice president’s claim in the media, he was yet to send any delegation to him since the presidential primary ended and is not true that former Senator Bukola saraki was sent by presidential PDP candidate, Atiku to reached out to him while in Spain. He vehemently noted that Mr Atiku Abubakar had been using chieftains of the opposition party, whom he described as “attack dogs” to spread falsehood against him.
You will recur that Gov. Wike had been aggrieved since the fallout of PDP’s presidential primary and subsequent nomination of Delta governor Ifeanyi Okowa as Mr Abubakar’s running mate.
The governor said posterity would not forgive him if he failed to speak up on the crisis rocking the PDP, explaining that Mr Abubakar had not been magnanimous in victory.
He finally said he will react to all the comments made by PDP presidential candidate and his associates at the appropriate time
